Our cuisine – local, international & ayurvedic
In our restaurant we not only spoil you with a wonderful view over Yoda Lake, pool and orchard, but also with lovingly put together culinary delights. Our chefs are trained in the preparation of international and local dishes, as well as specialists in Ayurvedic cuisine. From vegetarian burgers and Italian pasta to local curries and chutneys, we cater to all dining needs. Of course, we only use fresh ingredients. This also applies to all seafood and fish, such as lobster, octopus, mussels and red mullet. Some of the fruit and vegetables we grow ourselves, herbs and spices come from our own garden.

Thaulle cuisine: regional specialties
Experience the culinary magic of Sri Lanka: we serve you the finest Sri Lankan dishes. The regional cuisine is characterized by the use of traditional spices, such as Ceylon cinnamon, cardamom, pandanus leaves, green chillies, fennel seeds and black mustard seeds. If you like it fiery, you’ve come to the right place: Sri Lankan cuisine is considered to be one of the hottest in the world. Of course, we also give consideration to guests who prefer a milder formulation. Just let us know when ordering.
Sri Lankan cuisine is known for its varied rice dishes. We cook with more than ten different varieties. Just as diverse is our selection of curries and chutneys. These include exceptional curries with vegetables and fruits, such as breadfruit, bitter cucumber and mango. In addition, we offer a variety of fresh fish dishes. The fish comes directly from the region – either from the Yoda Lake or the nearby Kirinda fish market. Be sure to try our Coconut Sambal, a spicy coconut salad we offer as an accompaniment to various dishes, or Rotti, the traditional flatbread made from coconut flour.

Ayurvedic cuisine: perfect balance
Our chefs have received a special Ayurvedic training. The individual dishes are matched to the treatment plans of guests and their Doshas. Foods that fit your Dosha are easily recognizable by the coloured markings on their containers on the buffet. As beverages, we serve fresh fruit juices, Ceylon tea and hot water, which has a beneficial effect on digestion, according to Ayurvedic teachings.
Ayurvedic cuisine is part of the traditional holistic treatment concept. Just like our various health treatments, it is adapted to the needs and physical complaints of the guest. The goal is to eliminate deficiencies and to prevent overstressing. Accordingly, the diet depends on the Dosha type (Vata, Pitta or Kapha).
In Ayurvedic cooking, fresh ingredients, especially fruits and herbs, play a very significant role. We also take care that, for a balanced diet, you enjoy all flavours at every meal. These are, according to traditional Ayurvedic teachings, sweet, sour, salty, bitter, astringent and pungent.
Something for every taste can be found in our restaurant. We offer international and local specialties. We support your Ayurvedic treatments with Ayurvedic dishes that are adapted to your dosha type. Our chefs use only fresh ingredients, which we obtain directly from our region and also grow partly in our own fruit, vegetable and herb gardens. The fish comes from the Yoda Lake and from the nearby fish market in Kirinda.
