Initial medical assessment by Dr. Upul, an individual treatment plan with up to five treatments a day, three Ayurvedic meals, yoga and deliberate rest – adapted daily to how you are.
On the first day of your Ayurveda cure, Dr. Upul takes time for a detailed consultation. Using the traditional pulse diagnosis he determines your Dosha type and records your complaints and current condition. From this your personal treatment plan takes shape, including medication and diet. No guest starts with a standard programme.
Dr. Upul brings more than 30 years of experience and has cared for guests from all over Europe. He speaks German and accompanies your entire stay personally. A German- or English-speaking attendant is at your side for every examination and treatment.
The initial examination is the foundation of your whole stay. Everything that follows – treatments, diet, medication, rest – builds on this diagnosis.
The pulse diagnosis determines your Dosha type – the basis of every treatment
A clear medical framework with set mealtimes and treatment slots – within that framework, everything is adjusted daily.
Your day begins gently – herbal soup, fruit and hot water to stimulate the metabolism.
In the separate Ayurveda centre: six private treatment rooms, our own pharmacy and a garden to linger in between treatments.
Massages, oil treatments, warming applications or cleansing procedures – which ones and how many depends on the phase of your cure and Dr. Upul’s assessment.
In Ayurvedic teaching the most important meal of the day, because the digestive fire (Agni) is strongest at midday.
With it you receive the medicines matched to your treatment plan.
You receive the treatment plan for the next day – so your cure stays structured while still responding to change.

The kitchen is part of the treatment: Dosha-appropriate, colour-coded, with ingredients partly grown on site
Yoga and meditation are a firm part of the Ayurveda cure at Thaulle Resort. In the quiet lake shala above Yoda Lake or at Kirinda Beach you begin the day with breath, movement and stillness – gently guided and matched to your cure programme.
In this way physical therapy and mental calm come together into deep, lasting regeneration.
The time between treatments is not an empty slot in the calendar but a deliberate part of your regeneration. Many guests rest in their room, read in the garden of the Ayurveda centre or take a short walk by Yoda Lake. The quiet setting supports that retreat.
Thaulle lies on Yoda Lake near Tissamaharama, 14 km from Yala National Park. The seclusion is not a drawback – it is part of the treatment concept: fewer stimuli, more nature, better sleep. Every room has a balcony, a glass front and an open view of nature – from 18 m² to 57 m², in five categories.
At the end of your cure there is a closing consultation with Dr. Upul. With a further pulse diagnosis he discusses what has already changed and what to pay attention to at home. You receive an individual nutrition plan and, if you wish, Ayurvedic remedies for the time after your departure.
Many guests use the days before or after the cure to explore the surroundings – Yala National Park, historic sites or the coast.
At Thaulle you do not experience an arbitrary spa routine but a medically led rhythm of the day. The combination of medical diagnosis, up to five treatments daily, cure-appropriate nutrition and deliberate rest is what sets it apart from a wellness holiday.
Including all the services listed – day by day.
On the first day Dr. Upul carries out a detailed initial examination with a traditional pulse diagnosis. He determines your Dosha type, records your complaints and draws up your individual treatment plan. Treatments usually begin the following day.
At Thaulle you receive up to five individually matched treatments a day. Which ones and how many depends on the phase of your cure and the medical assessment. The treatment plan is adjusted anew each day.
There is a clear medical framework with set mealtimes and treatment slots. Within that framework Dr. Upul adjusts your plan daily – according to your progress and how you feel.
A complete Panchakarma cure at Thaulle starts at 14 nights. For the full depth, 21 to 28 nights are recommended. The longer the stay, the deeper the effect.
The focus is on continuity and regeneration. Larger excursions are best placed before or after the cure. During the cure the deliberately planned rest periods matter more than a calendar of outings.
Yoga is integrated individually into your rhythm of the day. It is practised in the garden or in the air-conditioned yoga loft with a panoramic view of the lake. The timing follows your treatment plan.
